Disconnect - connect

Disconnect - connect (W.A.K.E) becomes a practice that keeps me grounded in the present, allowing me to leave behind journeys to the past and the future. Disconnecting from reality (my reality) to connect with the here and now (with myself), focusing on what I perceive in that specific moment. Immersing myself in the present sharpens my senses; I hear sounds, perceive aromas, contemplate shapes, textures, glimmers, shadows, messages, objects, gestures, and find beauty in the mundane... When I connect, I become aware of my surroundings and allow my unconscious to manifest. All those images that somehow capture my attention are immortalized in a photograph. Sometimes, I don't know why they attract me, but that's the mystery. Being aware of what captivates my senses.
Disconnect, connect (W.A.K.E.) is recognizing that I breathe. I inhale and exhale. And all of this began as a game, the game of W.A.K.E
W - what to shoot A - awareness K - keep shooting E - experiment
W.A.K.E It's more than just a play on words. It's playing, experimenting, and becoming aware.
The game still goes on.
Thanks to the photographer Alex Kilbee for his great youtube channel "The photographic eye" who inspired me this game.
